The Blue Petal is owned and managed by Assumpta Kershaw, a freelance designer florist who is passionate about flowers and foliage.

After attending flower arranging classes Assumpta realised her passion for working with flowers and she decided to pursue a career in floristry by completing a Foundation Degree in Floristry Design.

Having graduated top of her class, she has now set up The Blue Petal working from her home in Sutton upon Derwent.

Because Assumpta is not a retail florist, The Blue Petal holds no stock so fresh flowers and foliage are purchased for each customer. The absence of a shop also means Assumpta has more time to focus her energy and creativity on creating stunning floral designs for all of her customers.

Having worked as a Scientist for more than 10 years, Assumpta is meticulous and pays great attention to detail guaranteeing that all flowers received from The Blue Petal are of top quality.
